Behind every great business is a good origin story. Ours includes maternity leave, tax season, military moves, and a lot of early mornings. So how did two very different people—Caitlynn and Seanna—end up building Prospera together?
It wasn’t part of some master plan. But it worked. And if you’ve ever wondered who’s behind Unfiltered Profit or what makes our firm different, here’s the story.
Seanna: QuickBooks at 13 and a Love of Structure
Seanna’s path started early. Like… teenager-reconciling-her-own-bank-account early. She was the type of kid who voluntarily learned QuickBooks before algebra made sense. Her career took her into big accounting firms and later into running her own business, building processes, and helping other firms grow. She’s the person you want if you’re trying to turn financial chaos into clean, predictable systems.
Caitlynn: Corporate Tax to Creative CEO
Caitlynn, on the other hand, came from the fast-paced world of corporate tax. She was leading teams, navigating the complexities of business entities, and thriving in high-stakes environments. But after becoming a mom, she knew something had to change. So she traded big-firm life for her own clients, a flexible schedule, and eventually, a company built on values rather than billable hours.
Merging Businesses in the Middle of Everything
At some point, their paths crossed. And while they didn’t set out to merge their businesses right away, it became clear that their skill sets were wildly complementary. Seanna had systems. Caitlynn had tax strategy. They both had a vision for a firm that actually felt good—for clients and the team alike.
So they merged. During tax season. While Caitlynn was on maternity leave. Because why not?
It was messy. It was fast. And it worked.
Why It Works
Their partnership thrives because they bring different strengths to the table—and stay in their lanes. Seanna is the operations brain. Caitlynn is the big-picture strategist. They’re not trying to be carbon copies of each other. They’re building something where the whole is bigger than the parts.
They also have a shared belief: business owners deserve more than templated advice and last-minute tax prep. They deserve strategic thinking, timely insights, and a team that actually understands what they’re trying to build.
What Prospera Is (and Isn’t)
We’re not your average accounting firm. We’re not going to drown you in jargon or shame you for not having a perfect chart of accounts. We are going to:
- Help you understand your numbers
- Build systems that scale
- Offer strategy, not just services
- Keep things human, always
Because money is personal. And your business deserves a partner who sees the full picture—not just the financials.
So Why Are We Telling You This?
Because behind the spreadsheets and the strategy is a real team. And if you’re going to trust someone with your business finances, you should know who they are, what they care about, and why they do what they do.
If you’re looking for accountants who get it, get you, and can help build something stronger—book a call today. We’d love to meet you.
